About Kathleen
Kathleen Blackwell-Plank, MSW, ACCM, is a graduate of the North Carolina School of the Arts in Violin and a former member of the Charlotte Symphony. She received a Bachelor of Creative Arts Degree from UNCC and a master’s in social work degree from the University of South Carolina. She has over 21 years’ experience as a social worker in hospice care. As a therapeutic musician she is credentialed through the Harp for Healing Program as an Advanced Certified Clinical Musician. In 2007 she received the Sharon O. Dixon Award from The Carolinas Center for creativity, commitment and excellence in hospice care. She founded the Interlude Music Program of Hospice of Cabarrus County over 16 years ago and has been a prolific arranger of music for harp, voices and other instruments. Kathleen is a member of the American Harp Society and serves as President for the Charlotte, North Carolina Chapter of the American Harp Society.
